1. Check everyone is safe
If anyone is seriously injured or there is immediate danger, contact the emergency services. Do not put yourself at risk trying to help or photograph the scene.
2. Exchange details
Collect the other driver's name, address, registration number and insurance details where available. Record the details of any witnesses.
3. Photograph the scene
Where it is safe, photograph the damage to both vehicles, registration plates, the position of the vehicles, road markings, signs, junctions and the wider scene.
4. Do not admit liability at the roadside
You may not have all the facts immediately after a collision. Give an accurate account of what happened without making assumptions about responsibility.
5. Check whether your vehicle is safe to drive
If you have doubts about the vehicle, do not take the risk. Contact Prestige First to discuss recovery.
